Wellness Testing
1 | Nutrigenetic Testing
Have you taken a genetics test and received a lot of useless information?

The right type of nutrigenetic testing includes dozens of genes and gene variants. It not only offers the significant SNPs (single nucleotide polymorphisms) for brain health (Apoprotein E, E2, E3, & E4) based pathways related to the those SNPs, but it provides the science behind it, and actionable steps to address those pathways. More importantly, your report looks at cellular health, oxidative stress, inflammation, methylation, detoxification, systems pathways such as mood and behavior, insulin and glucose, cholesterol, hypertension, vascular health, clotting, bone and joints, energy metabolism and fat mobilization, nutrient needs, activity and recovery and more.

Your genes are not your destiny. With actionable steps you will learn what turns on or turns off those genes.

2 | Food Intolerance and Sensitivity Testing
Are the foods you are eating, making you sick?

This test measures personalized nutrition at the cellular level. The core technology is a blood test that measures the body’s cellular response to challenges from a wide array of substances including various foods, additives, colorings, and chemicals. Results are presented in an easy to understand, color-coded format. They highlight each patient’s incompatible foods, identifying triggers of inflammation, and the level of each reaction (severe, moderate or mild). The results also clearly identify the foods, which are non-reactive or “safe” foods. I recommend the panel which tests: 250 foods, 30 food additives/colorings/preservatives, 50 functional foods & medicinal herbs, 20 antibiotics/anti-inflammatory agents, and 20 molds.

Food and Chemical Sensitivities are associated with the following conditions:

-
Gut - IBS, diarrhea/constipation/bloating, gastritis, reflux, Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), etc.
-
Metabolism - obesity, diabetes, healthy weight loss, thyroid illness
-
Skin - eczema, psoriasis, rashes, urticaria (hives), etc.
-
Joints - rheumatoid arthritis, muscle pains
-
Respiratory - chronic cough, asthma, sinusitis
-
Neurological - migraine, chronic fatigue, ADD, etc.

3 | Micronutrient Testing - Deficiencies and Excesses
Are you absorbing the vitamins and minerals your body needs? Do the prescriptions you take deplete your nutritional status? Are you over-supplementing?

Micronutrients, such as vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and antioxidants, play an essential role in human health. They are crucial for proper immune function, energy production, and growth and development. They are obtained only through food. A diet that lacks enough variety may lead to a nutritional deficiency, while excessive supplement use may lead to a toxic surplus of micronutrients in the body. These nutritional imbalances contribute to a variety of chronic diseases. Micronutrient analysis is a key step in diagnosing and treating patients with autoimmune disorders, digestive issues, unexplained weight gain or loss, restrictive diets, or long-term prescription use.
The micronutrient test analyzes the direct levels of extracellular and intracellular micronutrients. Analyzing both types of micronutrients provides a complete picture of a patient’s nutritional status. This knowledge assists in the understanding of the root cause of a patient’s symptoms. This test is recommended for a variety of patients, including those with chronic conditions, skin problems, weakened immune systems, digestive issues, stress, fatigue, depression, long-term prescription use, poor diet, obesity, intense athletic training, or a vegan/vegetarian diet. You may be deficient and not even know it. Especially if you have been diagnosed with celiac disease, Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), or suffer with chronic diarrhea, you are most likely deficient.
4 | Lipoprotein Particle Profile
Do cholesterol numbers really assess cardiovascular risk?

Approximately 50 percent of people suffering from heart attacks have shown “normal” cholesterol numbers (NHLBI – The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute). Now there is an advanced cholesterol testing technology, which accurately measures both the density and number of lipoprotein particles. Measuring the lipoprotein subgroups is the only way to evaluate new risk factors, which is crucial for an accurate assessment of cardiovascular risk – according to the National Cholesterol Education Program (NCEP).

5 | Telomere Testing
How fast are you aging?

Telomeres are sections of DNA at the end of each chromosome that serve as a cap to your genetic material. Every time a cell replicates, its telomere will become shorter. Shorter telomeres imply a shorter life span for a cell. Age adjusted telomere length is the best method to date to assess biological age using structural analysis of chromosomal change in the telomere. Shorter telomeres have been associated with metabolic abnormalities, obesity and several degenerative diseases including cancer, dementia, and cardiovascular disease. Therapies directed at slowing the loss of telomere length may slow aging and age-related diseases.
